Verse and Update

1 Peter 5:6-11

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.

7 Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.

8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

11 To HIM be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

My friend Lindsey's Mom is a nurse...we checked in with her yesterday (thanks Linds!) She told us that the third post op day is usually the worst. Today was definitely the worst it had been, so let's pray that third day thing is true. Today is the fourth day.

I think he actually got over 8 hours of sleep last night, but the last one or two didn't sound too restful. He would be sleeping and all of a sudden jump and sort of snort/gasp. When he woke up, I asked him about it and he said it was spasms in his arm that would wake him up. Not awesome.

As usual, thanks to everyone for checking in and offering help. We are doing ok so far. We have plenty of food and the netflix movies should start arriving today. I was able to get out and run three miles this morning while he was still sleeping and even got some yoga done after the run. I hope the weather cools at least a little soon, because I hope to try and get Mike out for a walk around the neighborhood one evening. We'll see...
