I LOVE this weather!!
Quick updates on school: Midterms finished! Plenty of projects still ongoing. Decided not to present at SHAV this year. Still enjoying it immensely, learning gobs and gobs.
Mike: Arm is doing great! Still some at home rehab, but last PT appt gave him the go ahead to run and play bass as much as he wants! So he has...Stoke Row had their second show Friday night at Capital Ale House in downtown Richmond
This is a cover of a song called Stigmata by Slave to the System. Next time, I'll be sure to vid an original. They go into the studio this Sunday and are really excited about it! As usual, he's been consistently super supportive while I was sick and during my midterms-missing hokie games, cleaning the kitchen, walking the pup. I ironed some pants for him last night in an effort to reciprocate all his help...not quite equal, but I'm doing what I can!
Running: two weeks ago, a cold hit me pretty hard. I stayed home one day and skipped the gym, but as usual, I went out running, because there's no reason to skip a run if it's just a head cold. Well, this is really only true if you are able to still get sufficient rest, which I'm not. So, the cold lingered and I hacked out three runs last week. Start back today. I have today and tomorrow "off" from school (still doing a project today and heading to campus tomorrow) and this 'extra' time combined with this weather has me geeking for REAL training. man, I miss it. I finally hit a 20+ mile week before I got sick. I want to get three of those consistent under my belt, then I'm going to start speedwork again. For what, I'm not sure. It'll be mostly hills and 800s, because I think they are fun. The Frostbite 15k is most likely the next race for me...I can use Christmas money to cover the race fee.
Aside from training, I'm really impressed with my self discipline overall. I really used to think that I wouldn't run consistently if I didn't have a race coming up that made the training worthwhile, but I'm pleasantly surprised with myself.
