update

We met with the orthopedist this morning. The MRI and CT were clean, meaning nothing has spread. Chemo and radiation aren't recommended treatments for giant cell tumors, the treatment is actually just surgery, which we were already planning on doing! During the surgery, an ulnar prosthesis will be implanted. Once the affected bone is out, they'll send it to pathology to biopsy it.

Surgery is scheduled for Friday and he'll be there overnight. That will be followed by 12 weeks of different types of casts and braces, with rehab.



This is good news. Minus the fact that there is probably very little golf in his future...
